Jets Clearly not Super Bowl Contenders

September 14, 2010

New York Jets looked more like the Chicago Bears on Monday. All those football experts who had the Jets making a super Bowl run were way off. All their flaws were exposed by the ultra aggressive Baltimore Ravens. Everyone was ready to give the Jets their Super Bowl rings during episodes of Hard Knocks.

Mark Sanchez is not ready to be an elite QB. This is only year two and he played like it on Monday. He seemed battled by the fierce ravens pass rush and never got comfortable in the pocket. Sanchez will be an excellent signal caller in the future but right now he is no better than any other rookie QB.

NFL experts were all talking about the great pick up off future hall of famer Ladanien Tomlinson. The bottom line is LT is way past his prime. He will be a nice complement to Shone Greene but his days of dominance are clearly over. New York can’t win games solely on their top ranked defense. In the NFL when you defense only gives up 10 points it should be enough for a victory every game. Now that most NFL picks sites have jumped off the Jets bandwagon let’s hope they still make the playoffs.
