Favre is Changing Pre-Season NFL Predictions

December 2, 2009

Age before beauty. In the case of Brett Favre, he has them both. One week before turning 40, Favre put on another classic display Monday night as he shredded the Green Bay defense for 271 yards and 3 touchdowns. I don’t know why anyone would make an NFL pick against him, especially when it’s a big game. He always finds a way to quiet all of his critics. Favre was written off after a horrible second half of the season with the Jets. As it turns out, maybe he was really playing hurt. It doesn’t sound so far fetched, because he’s played hurt his entire career.

The betting public took Minnesota on Monday thinking that Adrian Peterson would go off. Minnesota clearly had a different approach. They put the game on the shoulders of Brett and he delivered. He has a knack for making impossible passes at the most critical times. We know the Packers defense isn’t as bad as they looked, but Favre found a way to make big 3rd down throws and amazing TD passes on plays that seemed to be broken.

If the Vikings really have the two headed monster that they showed against the Pack, they will make a deep run in the NFL playoffs. The question is, “ Will Favre go back to his old ways”? If Minnesota plays it smart, they will stay with their original game plan. Use AP to the fullest, and have Favre make the big plays when needed. This should be enough to solidify a good playoff position.

Brett is clearly looking for another Super Bowl ring. I think he’s got the team to get it. NFL predictions for the Vikings are changing daily, and with a few good breaks and some key Favre TD throws, they can do it.
