Cincinnati vs. NC State, New Look Bearcats
September 16, 2010
Now that Brian Kelly is at Notre Dame most college football experts are predicting a big drop for the Bearcats. New Head Coach Butch Jones is not only replacing a great coach he is also trying to replace record breaking QB Tony Pike. Zach Collaros is the new signal caller for the new look Bearcat offense. Collaros did get plenty of experience last year when Tony Pike went down with a broken arm.
Cincinnati struggled as they opened the season with a 28-14 loss at Fresno State. Jones needs to do what Brian Kelly could not do. That’s build a defense that can match the Bearcat high powered offense. Cincinnati can’t go into games thinking they can outscore every opponent. I expect the bearcat offense to run the ball more so the defense can get some rest on the sidelines. Kelly wanted to score in two minutes to tire out the other defense but it did the opposite.
NCAA handicappers are still predicting high scoring affairs with the high powered Bearcat offense. I think the days of 56 to 49 games are over. Jones has a tough task trying to keep the dynamite in the Bearcat offense while trying to play defense and get a running attack going. Now that Kelly is in South Bend 10 win seasons could gone forever.

Got something to say?

Coach Kelly will wish he had Zach at Notre Dame before the seasons over, trust me.
